!!!

Please read the list of cameras I repair/cannot repair before contacting me as I have reduced the range I am willing to work on.

News & updates

After a long hiatus due to a house move, I am starting to take a few repairs again. But due to very limited available time, turnaround times may be very long and/or I may ask you to delay sending repairs until I have time available.

I have also limited the range of cameras I will currently work on. Please check the list below.

Thanks for visiting my website. I'm Peter Robinson and I've been repairing Contax and Yashica cameras for over 20 years. Mostly as a hobby and out of necessity to repair my own cameras and, occasionally, for other owners.

If you are just looking for information you may find my other website of use where you can find information on the Contax 139 and repair documentation for many other models.  contax139.co.uk

I also have a blog with various information on it.

I hope you find what you are looking for but please contact me if I can help in any way.

Contact

Please check the list of cameras I work on below before contacting me.

Please contact me initially by email with as much information as you can including the make and model of the camera and any symptoms of faults. Pictures and videos of faults are often useful.

My email address is:  mail@contax-yashica-repairs.uk

Some repairs can be carried out on other models

I do not repair any of the Yashica AF compacts including any of the T models.

Service and repair information

Most cameras are sent to me because they have a fault and need repairing but I'm also happy to receive cameras for just a check or service. I assess each camera individually and will report what I think the camera requires along with a price.

Replacement parts
Most repairs do not need parts to be replaced but sometimes it's necessary so the possibility of repair may depend on the availability of parts.

Turnaround times
Turnaround times are variable. Please check with me if you have a deadline to meet.

Prices

Please contact me for prices.

I aim to keep my prices low as I don't do this for a living, but neither do I do it for free.

Repair estimates can be given without seeing the camera but for firm quotes the camera needs to be received first. I do not charge for making a quote but the return postage costs are payable if the quote is not accepted.

NOTE: Any camera found to have lubrication added where it shouldn't be will automatically incur significant extra cost or I may refuse to repair it. Unfortunately this happens quite often and removal of inappropriately applied lubrication takes a lot of time. Please don't randomly apply oil to your camera, it won't fix any problems and is likely to just make things worse.

DIY repairs

I'm happy to support anyone wishing to carry out their own repairs with help to identify faults and how to repair them. I also have a library of manuals freely available for your help. Just get in contact with as much information as you can about your problem.
